Maximiser

Let’s do something great!

The titles of these blog posts are about to get a bit alternative for an eco-website, so I thought I’d best explain myself.

These first five blogs are going to be a mini-series about how I got started with Eco Consultancy along with more of an introduction to me and what makes me tick. I will also get in here somewhere more details about the plans for the blog and how I want to make it super helpful to you!

Why five? Well, I thought it would be fun to base the introductory mini-series on my top five strengths. Hence the alternative titles.

I love Strengths Finder. If you’ve not heard of it – it is much cooler than the website makes it out to be! A great friend of mine, who himself was playing to his ‘Activator’ strength, bought me a copy of the book. You get a code and can go fill out a personality type assessment online. Then you get info on your top 5 strengths.

I have found it so encouraging and motivating. It has helped me understand myself and others better (whenever I am really struggling to understand or get along with someone, I read up their strengths and the lights go on and I know how to love them).

Strengths Finder also inspired me to trust myself and lean into my strengths. This has led to so much more ease and momentum in areas I was trying to do it like someone else. Turns out the way I roll works great when I know how to make the most of it.

And this really is what being a ‘Maximiser’ is all about.

They seek to transform something strong into something superb.

(Gallup, 2021)

A few months ago, my husband (yes can’t quite believe it myself but I’m married!) commented on how I’d been doing so much research and making changes to the way we live in order to become more eco-friendly.

He suggested I use my all the knowledge and effort I’d put into our home to help others do the same. At first, I brushed the idea away. He is, after all, a man of many ideas; but this one stuck with me and a month later I was pretty convinced that is exactly what I wanted to do.

So here I am. Working on taking something strong and transforming it into something superb.

Thanks to “my man of ideas”!
