Adaptability
Right here. Right now.
Today, I thought I would share a bit more about my brand of Eco Consultancy, what’s involved and how it ties into my adaptability strength.
Being adaptable means I am be flexible and enjoy applying my knowledge across a variety of situations. I also love working one-on-one with others, adapting information or resources so that they are relevant and helpful to the individual I am working with. It is so good to see people achieving their goals and dreams, and knowing that I was able to help make it easier for them.
So much of this is what an Eco Consultation, which is tailored to you and your home, is all about. My type of personalised Eco Consultancy seems to be available in some parts of America, but I have yet to come across it being offered in the U.K. So far in my research I have mostly come across Eco Consultants who operate in the business, manufacturing or construction industry.
Corporate Eco Consultants evaluate a company or developer’s practices and propose greener solutions to help them reduce their environmental impact. This can make a significant impact on a large scale if companies commit to more sustainable practices. These Consultants will focus on things like; how businesses use natural resources, their carbon footprint and how they dispose of the waste they produce (Krosofsky, 2021).
My brand of Eco Consultancy takes similar ideas and adapts them to the individual. I focus on providing personalised information and advice, to help you make your home, and lifestyle, more sustainable and eco-friendly.
“But what does this look like and what’s involved?” I hear you say. Let me outline the process for you.
Introduce and explore
I like to start with an introductory chat online where we can get to know one another, look at what is most important to you and pick an area in your home to focus on (e.g. bathroom, cleaning products, bedroom etc.).
You don’t have to know all the answers, or even be sure what you want to focus on, as I have a bunch of pre-prepared questions and categories that we can explore together.
Personalised research
Once you’ve decided you definitely want to work with me - I then put together information and recommendations specific to you and the area of your home we are focusing on. These are tailored specifically to you, your preferences and needs. (e.g. if you have sensitive skin/allergies I will recommend products that won’t aggravate conditions OR if you prefer shopping local I will gather information on what Eco-friendly shops are in your local area.)
Eco Consultation
This is the main session where we meet again in person or online. Here I share my recommendations, along with tips and tools, for building an eco-friendly lifestyle. Then we discuss in more detail the area you have chosen to focus on, the options that you think will work best for you and how to implement them.
Your home - your pace
After the consultation session I send a written summary of the Eco Consultation to you, to implement in your home, at your own pace.
Follow up
I offer a follow up session, as an optional add-on, up to 3 months after the initial consultation.
This can be super helpful if you are the kind of person who needs a deadline or a measure of accountability. Or even if you just want a space to process the changes you have made, what’s worked and what hasn’t. I am more than happy to offer alternatives and work with you to come up with the best solution for you (and the environment!).
Real change takes time and effort, so I like to focus on one area of your home and give you plenty of time to implement meaningful change. In the process you will also be equipped with strategies and resources to take on other areas yourself or we can always work together again.
If this sounds like something you would be interested in I’m currently offering 3 free Eco Consultations to whoever signs up first.
So sign up here if you’re keen! (This offer has expired)
I believe that as we each grow our awareness and take action, even if it is one change, one area of our homes at a time, we can make a difference to the future of our planet.
